Problem: Good afternoon, I am attaching pictures of my problem that has several parts to ensure knowledge, but I am stuck on the last part. I was on a roll, but got my last problems wrong. Am I missing something simple or have I done it wrong entirely? Thank you for your help!
Problem: I need help calculating electrostatic forces and and fields due to point charges in various scenarios. For example: "A point charge of 10 µC is located at x = -3.0 cm, and a second point charge of -7 µC is located at x = +4.0 cm. Where should a third charge of +6.0 µC be placed so that the electric field at x = 0 is zero." I'm using the formula for an electric field E=k*q/r^2 and not getting answers correct at all.
Problem: Good afternoon! I may have several posts over the course of this weekend, but I am not sure of your hours during this holiday weekend. I have attached the following problem that I am stuck on. it has several parts, and I thought that it was asking for the literal cos of 60 degrees which I know as 1/2, but I multiplied the two and got the answer below and it is wrong. Please can someone point me in the right direction. Thank you!
